Wind Turbines

A wind turbine is a rotating machine that converts the energy of wind into kinetic energy. If the mechanical energy is used directly by machinery, such as pumping water, cutting lumber or grinding stones, the machine is called a windmill. If the mechanical energy is instead converted to electricity, the machine is called a wind generator, wind turbine, wind power unit (WPU), wind energy converter (WEC), or aero generator.

To the extent funds are available, organized businesses operating in Puerto Rico, and Government of Puerto Rico entities are Puerto Rico Infrastructure Financing Authority eligible to receive a one-time rebate for a portion of the costs of a new, properly installed and functional WES.

Businesses (for profit and not for profit) will be eligible to receive a rebate for the purchase and installation of a new WES up to fifty percent (50%) of the cost of the WES with a maximum rebate of one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) per WES per Facility.
